The basic requirement for someone on the spiritual path is discrimination. The spiritual path is full of pitfalls. Unfortunately we live on a planet where illusion reigns, where disinformation, misinformation, manipulation, and deceit is rampant, for many purposes and self-interests. It has never been easy for the spiritual seeker. In our modern times, this is especially true with the phenomenon of UFOs, aliens and extraterrestrials.

There is a lot of interest in extraterrestrials nowadays, and that is a good thing. Humanity needs to look a little further than their own backyard. There is a lot of information available about and by extraterrestrials, from UFO sightings, contact stories to channeled information. However, most of it is accepted at face value. Shouldn't we be more careful about what is being presented?

The entire UFO phenomenon is complex, a wide range of knowledge is needed in order to figure out what it is really going on. Below are some quotes from people who have seen the need to be more discerning about who the aliens are and what they are doing.

One important facet of the UFO phenomenon to know is that many physical  extraterrestrials are able to raise the frequency of their vehicles (and everything, and everybody in it) to a higher dimension that corresponds with what is usually called the spirit world, etheric or astral world. When in this higher state of being, they will often be perceived as 'spirits', or other-dimensional entities.

From the introduction in Discerning Alien Disinformation by Tom Montalk:

"In less than a decade, mankind will be confronted with undeniable public disclosure of the alien presence. The critical choices that follow will turn into tragic consequences if made in ignorance, confusion, weakness, or desperation. Therefore informed choices must be made to safeguard human freedom. This book is about acquiring discernment in handling future relations with alien forces by seeing and learning from their current methods of deception. We must consider the possibility of alien deception so that we can preempt it. Distinguishing between peaceful and aggressive aliens is easy. A more difficult question is how to discern between positive aliens and negative ones pretending to be positive. This question is important because research suggests not all alien factions are sincere or have our best interests at heart. If hostile forces cunningly imitate benevolent ones, then anyone refusing to acknowledge this possibility invites deception. Those who deeply investigate the alien presence will inevitably conclude that such impostors are already here on earth waging psychological warfare upon us to disarm discernment and create within the population a growing desire for their imminent arrival and leadership. If we enter into diplomatic relations with deceptive forces without recognizing them as such, we will be doomed to repeat history for the last time. Let us be reminded of how the Native Americans traded away valuable land for worthless trinkets and broken promises, or how even today Americans are trading their freedoms for tyranny in the name of security. If it has happened before, what prevents it from happening again? Nothing except the awareness to choose differently. To preempt this possibility, we must know our priorities and develop a keen understanding of the differences between positive forces and negative impostors.

Asking how we can discern between the two will tug firmly at the lynchpin of the entire deception. Some might reject this by assuming all aliens must be positive, that such an exercise in prudence is nothing more than “xenophobic paranoia.” Well, maybe they are letting their biases interfere with their better judgment. Unfortunately this attitude is common today considering the scope and finesse of the alien disinformation campaign. It has been so intricately tailored to human psychological blind spots and emotional weaknesses that all but the most discerning and intuitively astute are being misled. As the saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions: regardless of how much one pursues peace, love, and progress, without necessary awareness of contingencies the results may be just the opposite. It is my firm conviction that genuinely positive aliens do exist and are active in our world, but that their true nature does not conform to popular expectation. Rather, it is the impostors who dress themselves in our naive scientific, cultural, religious, and spiritualistic assumptions to fortify their image. Without knowledge of what positive aliens are truly like, people might accept the faux alternative. So my objective for this book is to survey the falsehoods propagated by the impostors and in later parts discuss the true nature of positive aliens. This should provide a good base of suggestions from which perceptive readers may formulate their own criteria of discernment."

From the book Divine World, by Seizan Fukami:

Seizan Fukami, is a well-known Japanese psychic with much experience in matters of the diversity of spirit beings interacting with humans. It may a little known fact, but anybody who is psychic, will sooner or later be confronted with UFOs and beings who claim to be extraterrestrials, genuine or not. Seizan Fukami is one of them, and he is not happy with the increasing popularity of the UFO phenomenon. He thinks that communicating with UFO represents a grave spiritual error and threatens to harm the spiritual self of those who attempt it.
"I personally have communicated with UFO. To be precise, UFO desired to contact me. They informed me about all kinds of future developments in our world, emphasized the importance of love, provided me with precise information on UFO landing sites in Japan and throughout the world and even gave me detailed maps of them.
"However, during those encounters I also was subjected to an indescribable electric-like shock that I guess you would have to classify as a kind of electromagnetic wave. It felt just like a shock from an electric range. Such electromagnetic waves feel quite like the spiritual waves emitted by the divine and spiritual worlds, except that they are rougher and more often than not spiritually negative. But people who have never experienced true exalted spiritual waves before are likely to take them for real emanations from the gods. They are far from that, however.
"This is the first reason why we should not become too interested in UFO. The second reason is that if you do develop such a strong interest, communicate with them and become subject to the electromagnetic waves given off by the UFO, you are likely some time to be sucked into a strange spirit world.
"That is because the UFO that appear to us are almost without exception manifestations in different form of gangster spirit bands.
"What are gangster spirit bands? They are the equivalent of gangs or worthless elements in the spirit world. They are not exactly like those gang members who hang around street corners in our material world. They are certainly not dangerous convicts either. They upset the social order, but do not commit crimes serious enough to get then thrown in jail. The same holds true for these spirits I am writing about: they have not been condemned to hell, but at the same time they are not welcome in the normal spirit world either.
"They remain in a special spirit world, and are usually organized into bands. These are the gangster spirit bands I referred to earlier. To be completely accurate, these gangs are half-spirit and half-material, they have ability to delude human beings.
"One form they take is the UFO. Of course, there are also UFO that are used as wholesome intermediaries by the true, righteous spirit world. But they account for a mere 10% of the total. The remaining 90% of the UFO are mostly gangster spirit band UFO. Green UFO are almost entirely of this variety. Also be advised that any photograph you might see of an alleged UFO is merely evidence of the representational phenomenal manifestation of a gangster band.
"Nothing gives these rowdies more pleasure than to see people running around overreacting to their presence, shouting, "It's a UFO!! it's a UFO!! A UFO flying in the sky!"
"So these gangster bands just love to make themselves visible to people or carry off someone for a while.
"Besides manifesting themselves as UFO, the gangster spirit bands also appear in various other forms. (here Fukami refers to poltergeist and paranormal phenomena)
"In other words, gangster spirit bands in many cases take on the trappings of the gods when they appear in the material world in order to delude people. UFO are a prime example of this style of actions."
Then Fukami explains that there are also true UFO: "I hasten to add that the UFO sent from the righteous spirit world are incredibly beautiful. The spiritual waves they give off are rough like electrical energy, but they also emit a very refined kind of light. However, they do not cause any sort of vague fear in the human soul, nor do they delude and disorient people. The reason is that they operate in the cause of love and righteousness."

From Resisting the Intervention as revealed to Marhsall Vian Summers:

"At this critical time in human history, when humanity is facing the Great Waves of change—environmental degradation, violent weather, the depletion of your essential resources, the loss of food production, growing economic and political instability and the threat of war—there is a foreign presence in the world. This is the power of persuasion that is used immensely and to great effect within the Universe around you, within a Greater Community of intelligent life, of which humanity is but a very small part. Your notions of life in the Universe, which have largely been shaped by your films and your media and your imagination, do not really account for how things work beyond the borders of your world and beyond the boundaries of this Solar System. You live in a highly populated region of space where war and conflict have been suppressed, but where nations exert tremendous influence over each other, primarily through dependence upon trade. You are emerging into a very complicated, but very mature set of circumstances, and your world is immensely rich and valuable—rich in biological resources, rich in its biological diversity. You are living on a planet of immense value to others, and you are ruining it, abusing it, mismanaging it. And of course this has brought the attention of others. Even more than the development of dangerous nuclear weapons, the degradation of the world’s environment by the human family is what has really called the Intervention here. This Intervention represents the most dangerous challenge to humanity’s freedom and self-determination that you have ever faced. While there has been visitation to your world throughout history, there has never been an intervention such as this. And the forces who are here today do not represent those who visited your world in the distant past or in antiquity. Humanity is ignorant of life in the Universe. You have not adapted to living within this Greater Community of life. You are unprepared for those who have already prepared for you. They have long studied your physiology, your psychology and your social behavior. They have prepared for you, but you are not prepared for them."

Their influence over you will be inordinate, because they will be controlling resources that are essential for your survival and well-being, and you must rely upon them. It is the problem of losing one’s self-sufficiency and becoming dependent upon others. If humanity is to become a free and self-determined race in the Universe, which represents your greater destiny, you must not lose your self-sufficiency within this larger environment."

The depth of my trust, I think, is more frightening than the depth of my fear." Like Anita, she recognizes the directed nature of her response. 'Their consistent theme is control," she continued. "It is maddening to realize that although we strive to empower ourselves and know that we can claim and enforce our own mental sovereignty, still so often they slip by our defenses...and own parts of us which by rights we should have in our conscious possession."
