     For about thirty years I had tension around my eyes, tension and stress of my eye muscles and eye-lid muscles whenever I read a book, look at the computer or watch a movie. Every day.

     The other day I decided to leave gluten out of my diet. Lo and behold...the tension and stress disappeared within a week. Not only that, I also noticed that this winter I didn't get swollen finger joints, and I didn't get a sore throat (what would happen every winter a couple of times).

     Gluten is getting an ever increasing bad name. The latest research indicates that about half the population is gluten intolerant, although most people don't know that they are intolerant to gluten. Gluten can literally cause any symptoms. It is my feeling that gluten goes where there is a weakness in the body and then starts aggravating this weakness.

     Every grain has different types of gluten, and one can be sensitive to one type but not to the other. The only way is just to eliminate one or more grains from the diet and watch the results. Wheat is the most common problem. Rye and barley are next. Oats, although it also has gluten, does not cause problems with most people. Millet and corn do not have gluten and are safe to use.

     Although my problems were annoying, gluten can devastate one's health severely. I heard of a woman who had severe depression for over thirty years. Yes, gluten can penetrate the brain and cause brain diseases. Two days after stopping gluten she was totally cured of it. In some people celiac disease develop which is the destruction of your colon. Gluten can cause many allergies and auto immune diseases.
