Shades of turquoise silk brocade and vintage fabrics, set off by black velvet. The title is from a dream it inspired. The river was deep and the colors of the flowing waves were all the colors in this jacket. Shown here on the woman I made it for, Kathy Castor-Hart. She is at the Grammy's!

See what happens when two painters collaborate on a vest! Melissa Harris also is an artist, and it was a load of fun working together with her to choose the colors and fabrics that I would fashion into her dream vest. We both had dreams about it when it was in process. The two sides are quite different, it is totally reversible. Click on the image to see the front and the reverse side.

A real wizards cloak, with lots of moons and stars. The grey panels have metallic silver creating a mist effect. The blue panels are "Night Glow", a fabric with glow in the dark stars. This is real glow in the dark, the stars store up light and the glow will last for a while. Really fun for evening wear! The vest is all cotton, and is sized to fit a medium to medium large person. The back length is 46 inches. Satin lined pockets.  Not reversible, but the inside is nicely done, with red purple an blue with stars cottons.

Here is Gerd Stern, a poet, and a pioneer light show and multimedia artist of the 60's, wearing his luxurious custom made jacket. It has appeared with him at poetry readings around the country. The jacket features hand embroidered panels from Pakistani shawls, and several different velvets. He selected the fabrics and colors himself from my collection.

George is a semi retired lawyer who has found his true passion, singing. He has performed classical music, and wore his new vest right away for a solo performance. It is reversible, he wore one side for one song and turned it with a flair for the other! He himself found the fabric with the pentacles, it was one of those imported cotton spreads, a real lucky find. Here he is standing in my studio, the day he got the vest.

Here is Susun Weed in her Tibetan style vest, with full stand up shoulders, as she specially requested. One of the first people to get a vest, she has told me she has been wearing it frequently for her lectures for several years now and it has held up very well. She travels the world over teaching about herbal medicine. Her web site is www.susunweed.com . The lightning bolts were inspired by her energy, and that she is an Aquarius, also they somehow remind me of the prancing goats she keeps on her farm.

  A lady who works as a curator at a museum of American Indian culture and art fell in love with my vests. She wanted something to brighten up her presence for the lectures and  events that she presents. As you can see she was very happy with the vest, which was made using the traditional Tibetan vest pattern.  You also can see how well the design of the vest works for a larger size person!

Gary lives in the midwest and wanted a warm woolen vest in the Tibetan style to go with his meditation practice. He sent me the measurements, and it fits perfectly! He loves it. It was modeled after Red Tibetan in the available clothing section. He needed a larger size.
